The AI Enablement team was formed in response to recommendations in the Generative AI Task Force (GAIT) report of Spring 2024.  Based in the Office of Information Technology, this team actively partners with groups across campus to advance AI literacy, promote responsible innovation, and provide foundational AI technology services to support the University's strategic mission.

The AI Enablement team's mission is to realize the tremendous potential of artificial intelligence to enhance and accelerate the amazing work of our faculty, staff, and students.  Our goal is to implement the most valuable and innovative uses of this technology across the three pillars GAIT describes–eaching and Learning, Research and Scholarship, and Enterpise and Administration–while mitigating risks, keeping Notre Dame data safe, and upholding our University values.

We do this through close collaboration with groups such as Notre Dame Learning, Teaching and Learning Technologies, the Office of Research, the Lucy Family Institute, the College of Arts & Letters, and more, as we seek to establish a unified and comprehensive Notre Dame engagement with generative AI and all its implications.  We are always looking for new campus partnerships; if you are interested in a conversation, workshop, or consultation, please contact ai@nd.edu or request an appointment.
