Powerful New Gemini Tools Available Now
Google Gemini has recently released several new features for Notre Dame licenses. These powerful new tools will enable many new ways of working with Gemini.
All of these features are included in our Enterprise Google Licenses and are covered by our enterprise data protection agreements. This means they are safe to use with any content stored in your Google account, including Email and Google Drive.
Gemini for Workspaces in Docs and Slides
Previously only available for premium AI licenses, Faculty and Staff now have access to Gemini for Workspaces in Docs and Slides.
To get started, simply click the Gemini star icon in the upper right corner of Docs or Slides.
A Gemini chat space will pop out on the right side of your window and you can converse with Gemini.
- Discuss and summarize content in your docs
- Create new content including images
- Use the three line menu to interact with Gemini Gems
- Use ‘Help me write’ to get started on a document
- Use Nano Banana in slides to help visualize your content
Additional features for Google Sheets and Gmail are not currently available but are expected in the future.

Gemini Workspace Studio
Notre Dame users can now access Gemini Workspace Studio to create custom AI-powered workflows inside the Google Workspace Apps. Utilizing this exciting new set of features unlocks incredible new abilities to automate aspects of our daily work with Gemini.
- Summarize emails based on labels and filters
- Take action based on the content of an email
- Draft responses to common emails
- Automatically add attachments to Google Drive
- Plus much more!
This extended session (16:16 duration) is a quick into into what Google Gemini Workspace Studio is and what it can do. The team explores what is exciting about this new feature, walks through setting up a workflow in the tool, and checks out a couple of possible uses.
