Gemini App is ONLY the conversational chat element of the Gemini tools. Additional Gemini features require additional licensing and are not approved at this time.

For Faculty & Staff the optional Google Workspace Extensions allow you to interact with other Google Workspace apps like Gmail, Drive, and Docs via the gemini.google.com chat application. Please be aware that this feature, like Gemini itself, is a beta product, and may be subject to service interruptions or changes. Learn more here.

Data Security

Security Status: Approved with Qualifications

When using a Notre Dame account, data protection is enabled and use of this tool is encouraged for most chat-based AI usage.

Do not use browser extensions that claim to be affiliated with Google Gemini. They are developed independently and may be malicious.
