Build and publish a simple AI-assisted web tool while learning conversational programming with ChatGPT and Netlify.
This workshop introduces participants to conversational programming ("vibe coding") as a practical and emerging approach to building digital tools with the help of large language models such as ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude. Participants will begin by using an AI assistant to generate and revise a simple browser-based tool, then publish that project through Netlify so it can be used online. The workshop builds on this hands-on experience to explain the broader theory and practice of conversational programming, including how AI can be used in IDE-based development workflows as well as no-code or low-code platforms such as Lovable. By the end, participants will understand how to build a simple AI-assisted web project, as well as how conversational programming fits into a larger landscape of emerging technology, automation, and digital creation.
This workshop is appropriate even for those without coding experience. If you can use a browser and want to better understand how people use Chat LLMs to write software, this workshop will help you take a step into the larger world of AI.
